Master Class: Drama School Auditions

Who is it for?

This course is aimed at 17-22 year olds who are considering auditioning for Drama School or conservatoire courses over the next year.  It’s for those looking for guidance and work on all aspects of their audition process, applications, material selection, handling the pressures of the day and delivering the best performance they can.

What we'll cover:

• Breaking down an audition process and elements
• Looking at tips for selecting appropriate material
• Warm up exercises for the voice, mind and body ahead of the audition
• Text exercises to best prepare material
• How to select appropriate material
• An understanding of how to represent yourself the best you can at a drama school audition
• Confidence in how you can enter the room and feel authentic
• Performance tips for monologues and songs
• Working with a live pianist
• Coaching on monologues (classical and contemporary)
• Coaching on songs

Your coach:

Adam Stadius

Adam Stadius is Head of Musical Theatre at Leeds Conservatoire, having designed and launched it’s undergraduate course in 2019.

An acting coach currently based between Leeds, London and the North-East of England, Adam trained at the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama (MA Musical Theatre - with distinction) and has since held teaching posts at college and university levels across the country including the BRIT School of Performing Arts and SLP College.

As a teacher and practitioner of the Meisner Technique, Adam has instructed professional actors, students and graduates of Drama UK accredited schools including Arts Ed, LAMDA, Mountview, Arden, GSA, RADA, London Studio Centre, and the London School of Musical Theatre.
